Meet Katie
I’m Katie, the K in Sarah K. Photography. My full name is Sarah Katelyn, built from four generations deeply rooted in the oaks of Harkers Island, the tides of Atlantic, and through the woods of Marshallberg. I’m proud to be the wedding and portrait photographer for so many families in our Eastern North Carolina community, where everyone is family. And if this is our first time meeting, don’t worry. We’ll be family soon enough!
Family is the inspiration behind every image. Weddings, new babies, family sessions - each shoot is an opportunity to capture generations of love, the hard fought journeys that got you where you are today. From the biggest moments to the smallest details, each image will keep those memories fresh in your heart.

I’m a golden nugget in the Peace College treasure chest (class of 2010!) with a BA in Graphic Design. Do you need custom design work? I do that too! When I am not behind my camera, meeting potential clients, or editing into the late hours of the night, you might find me:
- traveling to visit far away besties or to new places with them
- being with my golden girl, Annie
- in the warmer months, any free day I can get and the sun is shining, you'll most likely find me at the Cape
My process is simple. I ask lots of questions and dedicate a great deal of time to getting to know all of my clients on a deeply personal level. My goal is to surprise you with a gallery of images that leave you wondering, “how did she know?”
Meet Annie
Haven’t you heard? Annie Banks is the most important component to this operation. This nine year old golden retriever is part editing companion, part late night snack buddy. She loves car rides to the post office to deliver your galleries, Nilla Wafers, and belly rubs. And I’ve been told she’s not fond of the fact that I come home smelling like your fur babies after a four-legged portrait session.
